BARCStoberfest 2021 Wrap Up!

We are so excited to announce that the 17th annual BARCStoberfest, presented by VCA Animal Hospitals, raised more than $330,000 for the animals at BARCS!

Another year, another BARCStoberfest! We dressed up, we ran, we ate, we drank and, most importantly, we raised money to save the lives of homeless animals in Baltimore City.

As you may know, this is the second year we’ve had BARCStoberfest without our signature festival, which in turn made our plans and fundraising abilities uncertain. But, we came up with a creative way to celebrate so that our community and their pets could experience the joys of the mini events in this transitional year. We wanted to bring you experiences reminiscent of the big festival for a sense of fun and community.

Our incredible supporters came through and gave our animals that gift that they needed, going way above and beyond our goal. As you know, BARCS is not an organization of “extra.” Each year, our shelter cares for 10,000 animals on half of our recommended budget. We’ve been underfunded since day one, and we continue to save lives each day against all financial odds.

A tremendous thank you to all who donated or registered to raise money through a personal or team fundraising page. This year’s BARCStoberfest success belongs to each and every one of you. Thank you to Bill Miller and Miller Value Partners for pledging an emergency matching donation opportunity to save animals in crisis and support our lifesaving mission.

We'd like to recognize our top team and individual fundraisers for their tremendous efforts in making the months leading up to our festival a major success for the animals. Thank you to each and every one of you who donated, raised money and participated in our virtual fundraising activities. You are true lifesavers and we are happy to have you on our side.
