Brownie's Happy Tail

Do you happen to remember this face? We sent an email about Brownie two years ago. At the time, she was part of our Giving Tuesday campaign because she was one of the oldest and most overlooked dogs at our shelter. In 2020, she was found wandering around Baltimore city streets by herself. Our team was able to track down her owner, but the outcome wasn't the fairy tale we hoped for. Heartbreakingly, her former owner indicated that Brownie was no longer wanted in the family. Why she wasn't wanted, we'll never understand.

But, we promised her that the best was yet to come.

After several weeks of waiting, and thousands of humans rooting for her on Giving Tuesday, one big-hearted family welcomed Brownie into their family. Brownie, now Millie, is so loved in her home. Her humans Rick and Roxanne tell us, "Millie has certainly changed our lives for the better. She is so sweet and loving. She likes nothing more than to cuddle up with us and her 'cat-bros' on the couch or in front of the fireplace. While she has slowed down a bit over the past two years, she can still gallop to the fridge for her nightly tablespoon of vanilla ice cream!"

Have a great life, Millie!
