Matcha Overcame Her Obstacles

We love hearing Happy Tails from our adopters! Check out this great story from BARCS adopters Erin & Chris and their pup Matcha, formerly known as Tea Time 7 at BARCS:

"On January 2nd, we adopted Tea Time 7. She was the smallest rottweiler we'd ever seen and fearful of being outside. She wanted to go back into the safety of BARCS and didn't want to go into our car. BARCS staff assisted us with all the patience in the world.

Within minutes of coming home, she broke out of her shell. She was obsessed with toys, treats, and snuggles on the couch. We named her Matcha as a way of honoring her BARCS name, and also because she looks so good in green!

Matcha's confidence has soared so much faster than we could have imagined. She leaps into the car at top speed now, ready for a hiking adventure, a short stay at daycare, or a visit to Bark Social.

We have a trainer who works with us on house and leash manners, and he says he loves working with her because she's so eager to participate in every new activity! A+ for Matcha!

We have also never met a dog as inclusive as her. She's gentle with puppies and senior dogs. She plays with tiny Chihuahuas and tall Great Danes with the same level of enthusiasm. She gives everyone a chance, just like she needed us to take a chance on her.

Dogs like Matcha have a lot of obstacles to overcome. They might not have had the best start to life. But with patience and time, they can be so great! We're glad she's joined our family. "
