BARCS RESUMES DOG ADOPTIONS AND FOSTERING!
We're happy to share that we will resume dog adoptions and fostering at BARCS today, June 12.
It has now been more than a week since any new dogs have tested positive for parvovirus, and with additional antibody testing underway for the dogs currently in our care, we are once again placing dogs into homes.
As always, our team will work with each adopter to find the right match and review any special precautions that may apply based on an individual dog's history.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us through this challenge, especially the donors who stepped forward to help cover unexpected medical costs and the volunteers who continued showing up every day to care for our dogs.
This past week, BARCS continued accepting animals from Animal Control that had nowhere else to go. As a result, we currently have no open dog kennel space. Our focus this weekend will be placing as many adoptable dogs as possible into homes and foster care so we can create space for new incoming animals. We expect to resume public dog surrenders and our Dog's Day Out program by the end of next week and will share another update as soon as those programs reopen.
Thank you all again for your support. We hope together we can work to place as many dogs as possible into new homes this weekend and beyond!
