Please join us for Art for BARCS, a collection of works by local artists to benefit the homeless pets in Baltimore.
Artwork for purchase to benefit BARCS, plus Blue Pit is donating 10% of their sales that evening! Vegan and vegetarian friendly menu!
***************************************
ART FOR BARCS | Call for Artists
All entered artwork must be original work by the submitting artist. All pieces must be animal-related (mammals), family friendly and the value should not be more than $150 per piece. You must let us know how many pieces and the sizes that you intend to submit by June 5, 2018. (If we run out of space we reserve the right to restrict the number of pieces).
Each artist will need to set up a time in advance with Blue Pit BBQ to bring in their pieces between June 10 and June 13. Art must be hung no later than June 13. Each piece will be labeled with the percentage of proceeds being donated to BARCS. Keep in mind, many guests are animal advocates and will be more likely to purchase the pieces that have a larger portion going to BARCS!
In addition to your hung pieces, you may also bring additional prints to sell. Prints must be 8x10 or smaller and will be sold for $20 each, with 50% going to BARCS.
Work may be collected any time after the show or each artist may leave it hanging until it sells or until Blue Pit BBQ needs the wall space.
Blue Pit BBQ will not take a fee but for all works sold through them, they will add on and collect additional sales tax in order to pay it with their monthly sales tax. You may elect to have all sales go through you (in which case you will be responsible for coordinating with the buyer) or you may elect to have Blue Pit BBQ accept payment for the sale, add on sales tax, deduct and make the donation to BARCS on behalf of the show and cut you a check for the remainder. Blue Pit BBQ will provide personal sales reports to each artist each month or within 48 hours upon request.
The artists will assume responsibility for his or her work. Blue Pit BBQ and BARCS will not be held liable or responsible for any theft, damage or anything happening to the artwork.
For questions and to enter the show, please email tgosheff@barcs.org.

Today, Show Your Soft Side uses its reach and resources to build a better world for animals and, in doing so, build better adults.

About the beer:
“We wanted to create a beer with BARCS that would appeal to dog-friendly folks with an outdoor lifestyle,” says Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard. “A light, slightly spicy wheat ale inspired by the white ales of Belgium was our choice to create a refreshing, low ABV, “summer is coming” beer that will make people smile. Orange peel and black currant puree adds a fruity, tart, colorful dimension to this canned homage to our furry friends!”
Style: Wheat ale w/ black currant
ABV: 4.5%

A Dog’s Promise – The Newest in the “A Dog’s Purpose” Series!
This is the highly anticipated third book in the A Dog’s Purpose series.
A Dog’s Promise continues the story of Bailey, the good dog whose journey started in A Dog’s Purpose(the international hit film) and continued in A Dog’s Journey (soon to be a major motion picture in May 2019). This time, Bailey is joined by another very special dog, who helps Bailey fulfill his promise over the course of several lives.
This charming, wise canine soul brings joy, laughter, and comfort as he unites a family fractured by life’s inevitable obstacles. The love and loyalty of these two memorable dogs shows us the incredible power of hope, truth, and unending devotion in this moving novel by award-winning author W. Bruce Cameron.
Lily's Story is a new standalone story in the bestselling A Dog’s Purpose Puppy Tales series
A rescue dog to the rescue!
Lily is the smallest puppy in her litter and the only girl. Her brothers are bigger and stronger and like to push her around. When Lily meets a girl named Maggie Rose at the animal shelter, Lily discovers things are not so bad. Lily’s size means that she can help other animals who are in trouble. It’s Lily to the rescue!
W. BRUCE CAMERON has published more than 15 bestselling books that have been translated into over 50 languages. His award-winning “A Dog’s Purpose” series has the highest overall reader rating of any New York Times bestseller.

Welcome to the 15th Online Auction for BARCS Franky Fund. Volunteer and big-time foster Michelle Green has been saving lives by running our Franky Fund online Facebook auctions for more than six years. These bi-annual auctions have raised close to $200,000.00 to date, covering the medical expenses for hundreds of emergency medical cases at BARCS each year. When Michelle first began these auctions, our Franky Fund (a restricted donation fund for emergency and specialized medical cases) was still in its infancy in terms of funding. She was inspired after the heartbreaking loss of Sam, a special foster cat she had welcomed into her home. Sam was a victim of terrible burns and succumbed to his injuries. Back in 2013, BARCS was saving as many emergency cases as we could afford, but there was still much progress to be made. Michelle and her family knew that if they could raise more money for the Franky Fund, we could save even more severe medical cases, like Sam.
Today, the Franky Fund is able to say ‘yes’ to every treatable animal with medical needs. We are on track in 2019 to serve more than 1,000 animals with this fund…and your auction donations and bids!
So bid often, bid high and have fun!
Auction Rules - Place bids in the comments with round numbers only. Winner must pay within 48 hours of close of bid by Paypal to Michegreen@aol.com, or cash. Please click the "friends and family" option when paying through PayPal so we can avoid being charged fees.
If the winner does not pay within the 48 hours, the item will go to the next highest bidder or be re-listed.
Items must be picked up in Arbutus, Maryland or at BARCS (301 Stockholm Street, Baltimore, MD 21230). Some items can be shipped and that option will be shown in the listing.
*Let's keep this fun. DO NOT bid to bump up bids. Keep it fair for everyone…remember, this is for the animals!
6:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Come out on December 21st and support the animals at BARCS! Enjoy spectacular lights at the "Dog House". BARCS will provide hot cocoa, cookies and dog treats in exchange for cash donations to support BARCS Animal Shelter.

5:30 PM
Come out and have a great meal for a great cause at Blue Pit! BARCS will be hosting a raffle, and 10% of all proceeds during dinner will go to helping pets in the Baltimore area. As always, our patio is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry pal!
