A Job with Purrks: Adopt a BARCS Working Cat
Did you know that we have working cats available for “hire” at BARCS?
Our working cats, who aren’t suited for traditional indoor living, would love to spend their lives helping to control your barn, warehouse, winery, brewery, nursery, or farmette’s rodent and pest population. All they ask for in return is shelter, food, water and care.
Best of all, when you give our cats a job, you’re saving the lives of homeless pets who otherwise would not have been suitable for adoption.
Working cat Joey is thriving in his outdoor home on the farm! His mom told us he is such a different guy with the freedom to roam. He was initially wary of the family, but has really learned to trust them. Joey enjoys patrolling the barn, riding along in the farm truck, and even walking the girls down the driveway to the bus stop.
There is no adoption fee for BARCS Working Cats, who are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped and microchipped. We’ll transport the cats to you** and provide all the supplies you need to help your cats adapt to their new environment, including an enclosure, food, bedding and a temporary litter box.
For more information on our Working Cats Program, please email us at cats@barcs.org.
**BARCS Working Cat delivery transports must be within 2 hours of Baltimore City.
