A $10 Pet License fee is still required for Baltimore City residents, for all pets adopted through waived fee specials. Specials include everything shown in the Champion Adoption Package mentioned below.
At BARCS, we believe in second chances for every animal that comes through our doors, including cats who have tested positive for FIV and FeLV, two diseases that are not uncommon but often misunderstood. In an effort to find these wonderful kitties great homes, adoption fees are waived for cats and kittens of all ages who are FIV or FeLV positive.

BARCS often takes in animals that have grown up together and have a great friendship. In an effort to keep them together in a new home, the adoption fee is waived for all animals 6 months and older who came to BARCS together and are adopted together.

Two for one!
We have so many cats waiting for a loving new home. In an effort to help as many as possible find their new family, and do it together, cats 6 months or older that did not come in together, can be adopted two for the adoption fee of one.
PAY ONE ADOPTION FEE - $75
Cats looking for work keeping rodents away in barns, warehouses, corporate campuses, plant nurseries or other places of business. They may face some behavioral challenges that keep them from living indoors, but their safe placement gives them great purpose and pride. Click here for more information.

Each year, the Franky Fund helps more than 900 animals get the critical medical care they need. But even after their initial treatment, there are animals that need long-term, additional or follow-up care in order to completely heal. For the wonderful people that want to help these animals, the adoption fee is waived.

Very Important Pets (VIPs) are long-term animals in our shelter that have been overlooked for adoption. Get to know our VIP animals via our social media and by asking our staff! To help these special friends find a home, BARCS has waived their adoption fees.
