Community Lifesavers: Clara and Rowan

Last week, two young community members stopped by BARCS with two clear buckets of money. Clara and Rowan, pictured here with big smiles and even bigger hearts, let us know that they had been saving their hard-earned chore money for one year. Their parents told them they could spend the money on whatever they wanted: candy, books, toys… the sky was the limit!

While playing one day, Clara and Rowan heard the news that BARCS was out of space. They wanted to help, but how? That’s when they knew exactly what they wanted to do with their chore money: donate it to help save the homeless animals at our shelter.

During their visit to BARCS, Clara and Rowan learned how their donation would help the animals. We chatted with them about how we make the animals feel at home during their stay with us, including how to make special treats like puzzle feeders. Their favorite part of the tour, of course, was playing in the play yard with a pup!

Thank you again, Clara and Rowan, for your generous gift! You two are truly lifesavers.
