Peaches Finds Forever
Poor Peaches was in need of a second chance. She came to BARCS through our partnership with Baltimore City Animal Control when officers impounded Peaches and her sibling after they were found living in unsafe conditions. Right away, it was evident that Peaches needed some TLC—she was very underweight and anxious for attention.
Adopter Tori M. had just met a small dog she was interested in when she saw Peaches practicing walking on a leash with the BARCS trainers. Right away, Tori was smitten with the beautiful pup. She asked a team member if she could pet Peaches, and they said of course.
It was love at first sight—for both Tori and Peaches. Sweet Peaches rolled over when Tori approached, her tongue hanging happily out of the side of her mouth. When Tori learned that Peaches would be available for adoption the next day, she made a plan to come back for her then.
Now, Peaches loves being in her forever home. She’s been working with a dedicated trainer to curb her reactivity and to certify her as a psychiatric service dog. In just a few short months, Peaches will be officially qualified to help Tori in the best way she can.
Tori says, “Peaches is the best thing that’s happened to me. I am so happy to be with her. She makes my day so much better by doing just the smallest things. Thank you guys so much for giving me my best friend. I love her more than anything and she is spoiled to the max now!”
