Senior Dogs Love Second Chances!

We love hearing Happy Tails from our adopters! Check out this great story from BARCS adopter Shawn and his pup Gunther, formerly known as Cinder at BARCS:

Cinder arrived at BARCS after he was found all by himself in the city. Though he was absolutely adored by BARCS staff and volunteers in the shelter, we knew gentle senior Cinder would benefit from a foster home. Of course, Cinder really wanted the warmth of a loving home, and thanks to his foster mom, Jane, and his adopter, Shawn, he found it. Now Cinder is spending his golden years with loved ones, and we couldn’t be happier for his second chance. Thank you, Shawn, for choosing him!

Shawn told us, “We knew we were going to get a senior dog. Cinder was the first guy I saw on the website. I never stopped thinking about them. When the time came, I found he was in foster care with Jane. What an incredible person! She is such a blessing to us and we consider her a friend. She took great care of our boy and made the process so easy. Gunther is named mainly for his beautiful brindle tiger stripes. He has come a long way with us. It's been bumpy here and there. But he is so smart and emotional. He cares about each of us and is always checking on us. Of course, he is underfoot every second and is never far away. He is very vocal and opinionated. Thanks to BARCS and the whole team, and extra kudos to Ms. Jane, the best dog mom.”
